Hallelujah! WE HAVE COLD AIR!!!!! Life in Oklahoma during June - Aug is soooo much better with A/C!
Today we found out our unit was nearly completely out of freon. The air man filled up the unit and now we are looking for blankets! I loved opening the door tonight after working at TCC and feeling the cold air hitting me in the face.
I thought I would write a few thoughts down here real quick as I continue to think through this weekends message and share my thought process with you - but this is not like a spoiler report - you still have to come to church to hear the full message - lol.
First, why does a little adversity - like loosing the air in your house - cause us to lose our focus on other things? No matter what else I had to do it all got put on the back burner while trying to get someone out to fix the air. My day became driven by responding to adversity instead of rejoicing in the journey. Instead of a take charge attitude, life was driving me crazy.
Second, it's interesting how something I can't see (freon) has a way of affecting my attitude, emotions and mental state. This is applies to both positive and negative influences. Perhaps we need to pay attention to the spirit of God and allow his voice to influence our actions, attitudes and emotions.
Not sure if these thoughts will make it in the message this week but they are worthy things to think about in how we respond as people and leaders to situations we face. Our actions prove to which unseen force we are responding to.
This is how we know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands. - 1 John 2:3
