Boy it's getting hot here in Oklahoma. Today it hit somewhere around 102 and I came home to find out that the a/c was broke in my house. You know it's hot when you watch sweat build up on your arms while setting still! Even now the temp is around 90 degrees in the house....I know this because that is the highest that the gauge will go!

Honestly, I can feel that this week is a message in the making. This Sunday at Fellowship I start a new teaching series called Purple People Leaders. In the first summer of fellowship I thought it would be a great time to start laying the leadership foundation to those who are the layer upon which the growth in the fall will be built on. The series concept is taken from the book, The Purple Cow by Seth Godin. In this book, he makes the notion that once you have seen a cow for a few times, all cows look the same. But a purple cow in the midst of a bunch of brown cows would stand out and make you stop in your tracks.
I don't want Fellowship Church to be just another church in the pasture of churches in Oklahoma City. We want to be different - to stand out - to contribute something specific as a church to our community and the Kingdom of God. We want to be purple!!!!!
Sunday I am going to be speaking on Purple Courage. Though the idea has been set for some time, I think I am going to be adding my current story into the message. The thought - how do purple people handle difficulties? Do they loose their freon? How does there actions affect those around them?
It never fails that when things like this happen I seem to find God speaking to me about what is going on in my life. Why can't I just receive insight without having to live it first? lol Anyway, if this Tuesday, I have plenty to Tussle through.
